The OCAA's only undefeated team in the regular season, the Fanshawe Falcons kept the momentum rolling in their first match against the Fleming Knights at the 2018 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect on Thursday afternoon in Barrie.

The Falcons wasted little time with power-blasting hits on their way to a straight set 3-0 victory with scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-13.

Zach Albert (Brampton) led the charge as Player of the Game along with teammate Cole Jordan for the Falcons as each scored 14 kills.

"I felt our team was very calm and collected," said Albert. "We felt very relaxed and we just focused on the next ball."

Fanshawe head coach Patrick Johnston felt his team did what they had to against the Knights.

"I think Fleming played a style we were expecting and our second side a great job preparing us for the match," said Johnston. "We executed at a really high level."

The Falcons will now move on to face the Redeemer Royals in the first of two semi-final matchups on Friday.

"We've seen Redeemer a few times before," said Johnston. "We know that they play a really neat style. We are going to need to be clean and crisp to get the result we want tomorrow."

Erich Perau (Peterborough) was named Player of the Game for Fleming as he posted a team high eight kills along with five digs. The Knights will play in the consolation semi-finals against the George Brown Huskies at 1 p.m. on Friday.
